Madách Theatre (Musicals)

The magnificent building of the Madách Theatre, reconstructed and refurbished in 1999, gives the word "grand” a whole new meaning. Its impressive interior gives home to three different stages, where every season a new, world-class musical is performed; highly spectacular premiers that have become the trademark of the theatre, due to their originality and high quality performance. Apart from the imposing Grand Hall, the main stage, there are also two smaller chambers, called the Tolnay Salon, named after the famous Hungarian actress, Klári Tolnay, and the Madách Studio. Thus, aside from the traditional and grand musicals like "The Phantom of the Opera” by Lloyd Weber or "Cats” by T.S Elliot and Weber, there is also room for smaller-scale artistic experimentation in the smaller chambers.
