On the Danube riverbank, just under the Castle district, on the recently nicely renovated Corvin Square, You will find the House of Traditions, aimed to keep the folklore of the Carpathian Basin alive. In the classical building, we can get some valuable insight into the sometimes so colourful culture of the region.The building is also famous for its regular residents, the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, who have been around for more than 50 years, dazzling the crowds with their performances ever since. The State Folk Dancers are also one among the most known Hungarian cultural export goods abroad.The building also houses other more traditional programmes, like classic and modern dance or music performances, and various other cultural performances. A must for all those visitors who are keen to find out more about the Hungarian folklore.
